Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of social and psychological services to eligible veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. With over 300 locations nationwide, Vet Centers offer readjustment counseling, PTSD treatment, military sexual trauma counseling, bereavement counseling, and employment assistance. Services are provided in a non-clinical, welcoming environment separate from VA Medical Centers.
Eligibility
Open to combat veterans, veterans who experienced military sexual trauma, veterans who served in a mortuary capacity, veterans who served on drone crews, and active-duty service members. Family members may access bereavement counseling and military sexual trauma services.
How to Access
Visit vetcenter.va.gov to find the nearest Vet Center location. Walk-ins are welcome at most locations, or call ahead to schedule an appointment. No VA enrollment or referral is required. Services are confidential and free of charge.
