About

The VA Caregiver Support Program provides services and support to family members and friends who care for veterans. The Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers offers a monthly stipend, access to healthcare through CHAMPVA, mental health counseling, caregiver training, and respite care. The program recognizes that caregivers play a vital role in veteran recovery and well-being.

Eligibility

Caregivers of veterans enrolled in VA healthcare who have a serious injury or illness incurred or aggravated in the line of duty. The veteran must need at least six months of continuous personal care services.

How to Access

Call the Caregiver Support Line at (855) 260-3274 to learn about available programs. You can also visit caregiver.va.gov to apply for the Program of Comprehensive Assistance. A Caregiver Support Coordinator at your local VA Medical Center can guide you through the application process.
