Ohio provides free tuition at public colleges and universities for up to four years of undergraduate study for the surviving spouse of a veteran who died as a result of military service. This benefit helps surviving spouses pursue education and career opportunities while honoring the sacrifice of their fallen partner.
Eligibility
Must be the surviving spouse of a veteran who died as a result of service-connected causes. The deceased veteran must have been an Ohio resident.
How to Access
Apply through the financial aid office at an Ohio public college or university. Provide the veteran's DD-214, death certificate, VA documentation of service-connected death, and marriage certificate. The benefit covers up to four years of undergraduate tuition.
