K9s For Warriors is the nation's largest provider of service dogs for veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and military sexual trauma. The organization rescues and trains shelter dogs to become psychiatric service dogs, then pairs them with veterans through a three-week residential training program. The service dog, equipment, training, and follow-up support are provided at no cost to the veteran.
Eligibility
Must be a post-9/11 veteran diagnosed with PTSD, TBI, or military sexual trauma. Must be able to attend the three-week residential training program. Must have an honorable or general discharge.
How to Access
Apply at k9sforwarriors.org by completing the online warrior application. The application includes a questionnaire about your military service and current situation. If accepted, you will be scheduled for the three-week residential training program at their Florida campus.
