Educator License Fee Waiver
Ohio waives educator licensing fees for veterans, active-duty service members, and military spouses.
About
Ohio waives the fees associated with obtaining an educator license for veterans, active-duty service members, and military spouses. This removes a financial barrier for military-connected individuals who want to enter the teaching profession in Ohio, supporting career transition and family employment stability during and after military service.
Eligibility
Must be a veteran with honorable discharge, an active-duty service member, or the spouse of a veteran or active-duty service member. Must meet Ohio educator licensure requirements.
How to Access
Apply for your Ohio educator license through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. During the application process, indicate your military status and upload your DD-214, military ID, or spousal documentation. The licensing fee will be waived.
