Available plates include Purple Heart, Vietnam Veteran, Combat Action Badge/Ribbon, Silver Star, Bronze Star, and several other military-themed designs. These plates allow veterans to display their service and sacrifice on their vehicles while saving on standard plate fees.
Eligibility
Eligibility varies by plate type. Generally, must be a veteran with documentation of the specific award, service era, or campaign associated with the plate. Must be an Ohio resident with a registered vehicle.
How to Access
Visit your local Ohio BMV office or apply online at bmv.ohio.gov/military-license-plates.aspx. Bring documentation of your qualifying award or service (DD-214, award citation, etc.) along with your current vehicle registration. Most military plates are issued at no additional cost.
