Ohio provides free hunting and fishing licenses to veterans who are permanently disabled and to former prisoners of war. This exemption covers all standard hunting and fishing licenses issued by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, allowing eligible veterans to enjoy outdoor recreation at no cost.

Eligibility

Must be a permanently disabled veteran or a former prisoner of war. Must be an Ohio resident. Disability must be documented by the VA.

How to Access

Visit any Ohio Department of Natural Resources license agent or ODNR office. Present your VA disability letter confirming permanent disability status, or documentation of former POW status, along with a valid Ohio ID. The license will be issued at no charge.
