About

HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) combines Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance from HUD with case management and clinical services provided by the VA. The program is designed to help homeless veterans find and maintain permanent housing in the community. VA case managers connect veterans with healthcare, mental health services, substance use treatment, and employment support.

Eligibility

Must be a veteran who is homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Must be eligible for VA healthcare. Priority is given to chronically homeless veterans and those with the greatest need.

How to Access

Contact your local VA Medical Center and ask for the HUD-VASH program or homeless veteran services. You can also call the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans at (877) 4AID-VET (424-3838). A VA case manager will assess your eligibility and help you apply for a housing voucher.
