Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption
Veterans with a 100% disability rating receive a property tax exemption on up to $58,300 of their home value.
About
Ohio provides a property tax exemption for veterans rated 100% permanently and totally disabled by the VA. The standard exemption shields up to $58,300 of assessed home value from property taxes. Under SB 92, veterans who are totally disabled may qualify for a complete property tax exemption on their primary residence, providing significant financial relief.
Eligibility
Must have a 100% permanent and total disability rating from the VA. Must own and occupy the home as a primary residence. SB 92 provisions apply to totally disabled veterans.
How to Access
Apply at your county auditor's office. Bring your VA disability rating letter, DD-214, and proof of property ownership. Applications are typically due by the first Monday in June for the current tax year.
